Overview

The Crew Member is responsible for creating an amazing experience for our customers and ensuring the successful operations of day-to-day store business.

Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Ensure a high quality customer experience by making customers feel welcome, making thoughtful product recommendations, and keeping the shop clean and inviting.

  • Answer incoming phone calls.

  • Articulate product knowledge to customers. Keep up to date with latest product trends.

  • Learn how to play and teach customers a variety of tabletop games.

  • Ensure that all customers follow the stores code of conduct and take appropriate action when necessary.

Store Operations

  • Complete all register transactions.

  • Participate in store activities, including but not limited to stocking, inventory, processing incoming merchandise, housekeeping, and pricing.

  • Take in customer trades for store credit and processing trades. Research current market prices and determine value of items.

  • Work single coverage.

  • Open and/or close the store before and/or after shift. This includes unlocking and locking the store.

  • Open registers and balance cash after shift.

  • Coordinate and facilitate special events. (Tabletop Games, Prereleases, Tournaments, Sales, etc.)

  • Be responsible for loss prevention measures of security and safety at all times while working.

Skills and Abilities

  • Has proficient knowledge on all products; continually trains to enhance knowledge.

  • Uses time effectively and efficiently; can multi-task.

  • Comfortable working alone.

  • Good at listening to and addressing customer needs.

  • Driven for results.

  • Comfortable working with computers and software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Excited for a challenge; flexible and open to change.

  • Approachable; builds appropriate rapport.

  • Acts with the customers in mind; builds effective relationships to gain trust and respect.

  • Looks out for the safety of themselves, fellow crew members, and customers.

  • Has basic retail math skills.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 1+ years of retail experience. Single coverage experience preferred.

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Fun and enthusiastic. Has a desire to interact with customers and learn new things.

  • Knowledge of toys, tabletop games (MAGIC, WARHAMMER, D&D etc.) , and comic books preferred.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

  • Work in normal conditions. No adverse of hazardous conditions.

  • Physical demands. This job may require you to perform some of the physical demands listed below on a daily basis.
